Overview: Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business offers a distinguished EMBA program that is characterized by two international and two domestic (national) residencies. Classes are taught in cohorts to strengthen interpersonal relationships between students and their peers as well as to sharpen business intelligence. Classes are led by experienced faculty who offer practical and applicable knowledge and are equally committed to our students as mentors beyond the classroom. Georgetown students span a wide range of industries and functional areas. Global in nature, the school’s curriculum integrates all functional business areas, and incorporates two international consulting projects. It also capitalizes on the school’s location (outside of Washington, D.C.) by providing a worldview that can only be derived from Georgetown’s access to the key institutions and leaders in Washington, D.C.- the epicenter of global business and policy.
Program Format: Classes are taught on Georgetown University’s campus. Four residencies make up a bulk of the program. Two of the residencies are domestic, while two are abroad.
Program Schedule: The program begins in August every year, and has duration of 20 months. Classes are held on Fridays and Saturdays on alternating weekends. The program also includes four weeklong residencies that provide students with real-world immersion in business strategy and venture.
Curriculum/Core Courses: Coursework focuses on core business disciplines including Accounting, Decision Sciences, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Strategy.
Class Profile: The average student is 36 years old, with approximately 13 years post-undergraduate full-time work experience
Admission Requirements: To be considered for admission to Georgetown University’s, McDonough School of Business EMBA program applicants must submit an online application form, current resume, personal statement, non-refundable application fee ($175), two letters of recommendation, letter of support from current employer, official academic transcripts from all post-secondary universities and colleges attended, official TOEFL or IELTS score, for non-native English speakers, interview (by invitation after receipt of completed application), official GMAT or GRE score reports, and any other demonstration of capacity to succeed in demanding graduate studies.
