Class Profile:
Admission Requirements: The admissions committee considers several factors when determining a candidate’s eligibility and potential for the Evening MBA program. Factors are looked at holistically.
Candidates must submit a GMAT score (the score report is required for applicants who have little managerial experience, want to be considered for the Merit Scholarship, and want to apply for graduate assistantships), official transcripts from all accredited colleges and universities attended, two recommendation letters, a statement of purpose, a resume, an interview, and significant undergraduate preparation (accounting, finance, economics, college algebra, probability and statistics, management, operations, and marketing). For the undergraduate classes, students should have passed the classes with a C or better.
Candidates can be admitted to the program without undergraduate preparation but will be required to successfully complete a non-credit workshop in each discipline where they lack preparation.
Excellent writing skills are also needed in order to be successful in the Evening MBA program. If a candidate’s skills are not adequate they will be required to take a writing workshop before or during their first year of graduate study.
Application Deadlines: There are no admission deadlines. The school operates on a rolling admissions process.
Essay: The essay that must be sent in along with the application must address reasons why a candidate expects to be successful in business. This essay must include verifiable and descriptive evidence of all business or management experience, preferably in a position of significant or increasing responsibility. Candidates should also be sure to indicate references who can verify their experience. The statement should also explain any weaknesses in other credentials, such as a cumulative undergraduate GPA of less than 3.0, or a GMAT score less than 500.
